A longing deep inside,
For years a dream it's been,
That a Mother and daughter's love
Could somehow make us friends.

There's anger in my heart
When I hear the things you've said;
But soon it will subside
To be replaced with hurt instead.

The love I have for you
Will over come the pain.
But the wall that grows between us
Could fast become our bane.

I don't know how to reach you.
Or to help you along life's way.
I've watched your life go spiraling down
So I'll continue to pray.

Dear Father, up in heaven,
My daughter's life's a mess.
I ask that you might guard her
Til she finds what's best.

Guide her footsteps toward you Lord.
Bring her back from the black abyss.
It's your path that she must choose
Before she'll find her rest.

So I'll leave her in your hands, dear Lord.
And wait as patiently as I can.
For the day she runs into your arms,
Is the day she'll become my friend.

Leave a not so I'll know you were here. Site Map. Drop me a line.
